Day 3 - Project Viewing and Science Stuff

The extra blankets (and the sunny day on Sunday) helped to keep everyone a little more warm overnight, and the whole gang was ready to go to breakfast (pretty much) on time at 6:30am. Shortly after we were on the buses to the project displays, and the doors opened for the first of three "viewing days". Today was a combination of some High School student tours, and viewing by CWSF Delegates and committee members. Though most of the school tours were in and out quick, there were a few good opportunities for our kids to talk about their projects and explain their work.

This first day of viewing ended at noon, and the it was back to the Trent campus for lunch and an afternoon of tours and presentations. Our group split up and went to different sessions (in part based on what people chose when registering, though not many seemed to get their first choices). Sessions included a "brief history" of space, "everyday chemistry", the night sky, and many more - though one or two may have been a little more dry on the interest side (not everyone can find greenhouses interesting!).

Many of the students attended a very interesting "humans in space" presentation at the end of the afternoon, and then off to a quick dinner. After dinner it was right back into a number of presentations and talks on topics such as Antarctic science, theoretical physics, an introduction to Australia by the Team Australia members, and more.

After that it was back to the rooms - an attempt to get everyone settled a little earlier in preparation for judging day tomorrow. And the heat is finally on in the rooms!
